Brilliant green rice fields against a backdrop of volcanos.  Lush ravines and white coral beaches washed by a sparkling blue ocean.  People in vibrant batik fabrics as bright as the butterflies and birds.  You will see few places as beautiful or meet people more friendly than in these two Indonesian islands.

We are welcomed into the homes of practitioners of the sacred and healing arts for a session with a balian (shaman); a discussion with Bali's leading psychiatrist, who uses trance and spirit healing in her work; a private mask-carving workshop and mask-dance performance; and demonstrations of batik fabric painting, traditional handloom weaving and pottery making.  Wearing ceremonial dress, we participate in temple and village rituals
